The openings on both models are a bit awkward (maybe the 159 a bit more so) but I find there is way more room in a 159 boot than a Giulia. Which I cannot understand as the Giulia is officially supposed to be 480 litres and 159 is 405 or 415 thereabouts. The 159’s boot is far deeper.

What I have heard is that the car requiring maintenance is not an issue but the dealerships and the people who end up helping are much more of a pain in the ass. Apart from that parts are expensive and not easily available for these cars. I just have 1 certified Alfa Romeo service center and that is like 40 miles away.
Thing with Alfa is that it is pretty much a hit 'n' miss situation. I have an 159 and the thing is reliable but i bought it new and have taken care of it. 10 years now, car still has no issues other than the electronics being a bit shit - parktronic doesn't work properly.
